This tournament is open to chess players in the county of Middlesex and beyond. Full Championship titles can only be won by players who either, (a) live in the County of Middlesex or (b) go to school in the County of Middlesex.  We are using the county boundaries as they were in 1965 (and prior of that), stretching back at least as far as the Domesday Book of 1086. From the map overleaf it can be seen that parts of Barnet are in Hertfordshire, Potters Bar and South Mimms are in Middlesex, as is the southern borough of Spelthorne.
